Born in Harbin, Heilongjiang, Province, China

1984

Graduated from the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts

Active during the Shanghai Modern Movement of the 80s where he was regarded as the political pop icon of the late 1980s.

1989

Participated in the China Avant Garde Exhibition

As politically and socially engaging as Wang’s paintings are, he continues to evoke the message of materiality inducing apathy of the people in China as well as the world.  He now resides in Beijing

1990

1992
